Our Cottages

The conversion of the barn, stables, tac room and Grooms room to Stackhouse old hall was a lengthy process, with as many characteristics and original features as possible being retained. We employed a small building company and worked with a local architect to get the cottages to reflect the local area in both appearance and character, whilst remaining cosy, modern and relevant. Hence there is the quirky feature of a Well, alongside beams that cut across rooms, a stone with Latin writing on it and old hay loft ladders that sit well among modern appliances, En-suite facilities and of course the log burners to snuggle up to on a cold evening.

Once out into the countryside get ready to be amazed at the rugged limestone features of the National Park, the endless walks and the friendly hospitality of The Dales. Enjoy good Pub Food with generous Yorkshire portions and a pint of the local ale.  Be prepared for the straight talking Yorkshire folk who will have a chat with everyone on any subject you like, believe you me we have an opinion on everything.  If that is all too much then head for the peace and quiet of the hills where you will find solitude apart from the odd sheep and enjoy the splendours that are Yorkshire.  We hope you love all the above as much as we do.
